With much buzz around the upcoming changes expected to impact Californian’s medicinal and recreational cannabis framework, the Blazers Cup provided the final encore for Cannabis Festival goers for 2017. Hosted by non-other than the pop-culture grandfather of The Stoner Nation, Tommy Chong combined his love for cannabis and the arts and put together a far out event and the rest was up in smoke.
Being the super chill and down-to-earth-celebrity, Chong took the time during the event to meet and greet with each and every festival sponsor & shaker on a one-on-one basis. While bringing smiles and laughter to those he touched, Chong’s presence and engagement with the cannabis community represented so much more than good times and clean meds; it was a celebration of the continued progress being made by real advocates of the green movement. Many reciprocated by sharing memories and even gifts with the legend, but none were as thought out as the fully customized one-of-a-kind ‘TOMMY CHONG’ Sasquash Rosin Press. “Chong had no idea that we had built him a custom Sasquash press that we personalized for him.” said Matt from Sasquash Rosin Press. When presented with his very own pimped out rosin press, Chong’s humble reaction was priceless.
Good energy, good vibes and zen flow throughout the festival, the headliners included The Game, B-Real, RJ Mr. LA, Berner, Scott Storch, Kill Lil G, Dizzy Wright, Riff Raff, Demrick and special appearance by Famous Dex. Unlike most concerts, many of these superstar musicians hung around and made an appearance at many of the premiere cannabis brand booths. It was evident that music, particularly Hip-Hop, continues to impact and serve as a key outlet for the normalization and advocacy of cannabis.
