Among many cannabis community enthusiasts, Chalice Festival has been regarded as one of the premier cannabis shows that the state of California has to offer. For the second consecutive year, Chalice was held at the San Bernardino County Fairgrounds, where mother nature was unforgiving and the blazing sun kept festival goers in search of something, anything, to escape from the relentless elements of the desert. One way or another, festival goers managed to find a way to survive the heat waves and torching rays.
Champion brands from all over California came out to show support during the 710 weekend. Zkittlez, Jungle Boys, Terp Hogz, Vader Extracts, Cali Plug, Slactavis, Crown Extracts, Critical 710, Alien Labs, Str8 Organics, Cookies, Exotics, OM Farmers, Kushites, Higher Heights Gardens, Nameless Genetics, Platinum Genetics, Natures Lab, Kush Co., Gas House, Blackleaf, Slab House, Wook Flame, BAMF and Hitman Farms; these were just a few of the premier brands showcasing the latest and greatest cultivars as flower and in various concentrate forms, particularly the #sauce. A field of dreams for connoisseurs’, it was crucial that they got in early to stock up on the latest and greatest strains or terp profiles before they sold out.
A wonderland of sorts, the Chalice festival is known to be more than an exhibition of Cannabis brands. Speak to anyone who spent time browsing the eclectic table tops in the glassblowing terrace or walked the through the many booths hosted by renowned artists and cannabis activists and they’ll let you know that they experienced something magical. Each evening, as the sun began to set and the weather began to cool, the festival lights began to illuminate the vibrant colors and warm the mood. As you cruised down the pathways, you may have witnessed works of wall art by artists like Vincent Gordon, Aaron Brooks, Mear One, Chris Dyer, Ellie Paisely and Toxic Mind. If that wasn’t enough of a sensory overload, perhaps the dope lineup of music performances may have done the trick.
“What’s up man, it was fucking tight, I got a bunch of high muthafukas to have a mosh pit, it was fuckin awesome! I want to say one thing though; OUTKAST is the greatest rap duo of all time. Big Boi, if you ever see this, I really loved your set, I know I haven’t seen it yet, but I’ve seen you like a thousand times, I love you man, Andre, I love you man, OUTKAST G.O.A.T.” shared Pouya.
Many thanks to Hitman Dougie & Chalice Festival FAM for the memories, and we hope Chalice will find a home closer to the coast in 2018.
